When my family cruised on P&O Arvia a couple of years ago, we opted for an onboard internet package and shared it between the three of us. It worked well enough for browsing and social media, but one drawback really stood out: we couldn’t easily message each other onboard using our normal apps without buying additional internet packages. For something as simple as communicating around the ship, it felt surprisingly limiting.

We’re heading back on P&O Arvia again this year and have been recommended the Red Bull Cruise eSIM. It’s a cruise-specific eSIM that comes with a modest 1GB data allowance, but crucially it can be topped up if needed. It’s not designed for heavy usage, but for messaging, light browsing, and staying in touch with others onboard, it sounds like it could cover the essentials.

This eSIM could help some people avoid the frustrations of sharing a ship Wi-Fi package. It’s a new option for us, but it feels like a practical alternative to onboard internet and might make it easier to communicate with family members while at sea.

I’ll be buying this eSIM and will share my experiences after the trip. If you’ve used the Red Bull eSIM on a P&O cruise (particularly Arvia), I’d love to hear any pros and cons in the comments below.

The Red Bull Cruise eSIM costs £15 for 1GB, lasts 30 days, and uses Telenor Maritime.

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“

“What did you think? We thought it was a decent enough start overall. The opening political sketch felt like the wrong choice and may have turned some viewers off early, but the titles were strong and Tina Fey was a smart pick to launch the show. We wanted to give it a try and didn’t expect to enjoy it, but it wasn’t too bad. There were some genuinely good sketches and live moments, although the Paddington idea felt like a missed opportunity. It’s clear the show needs to feel British, but in this first series it should still lean into…
