A few years ago when my wife and I turned 50, we planned to book a cruise to celebrate our birthdays. Covid and lockdown put pay to that idea for a while and we finally booked to set sail with P&O Cruises ship “Arvia” in 2024.

Having now completed our first cruise and throughly enjoyed it, I worked on lots of blog posts as we sailed.

This is a special series of blog posts about our cruise experience. The subjects will be wide ranging and all posts will reside in the new “Cruising” page on this site for ease of reference. Hopefully this will build a useful and comprehensive guide for anyone sailing on “Arvia” with lots of supporting info and photos.

Subjects include:

  • Booking/Insurance/pre travel preparations
  • Packing and organisation/cruising tips
  • Check in/travel by coach
  • First impressions of “Arvia”
  • Our cabin
  • Celebration nights
  • Sea days
  • General Entertainment
  • Theatre shows
  • Onboard talks
  • Staff and ship services
  • Drinks and internet packages
  • Restaurants, food and bars
  • Shops
  • Port days and excursions
  • The behind the scenes tour
  • Pools, spas and sunbathing
  • Onboard comms and getting around ship
  • Summary and recommendations

In the meantime, if you would like me to comment or provide info on any related subject, please let me know in the comments.
