If only I were loaded, I could do some serious damage in a LEGO store such as the one at the Bullring in Birmingham or the shop in Milton Keynes.
This month I received a birthday gift:
Speed Champions – Back To The Future

It’s a nice small kit that will look good on the shelf in my office. A present from my wife and daughter.
Bag 1

Bag 1 constructs the main base frame for the vehicle and doesn’t take long at all. It took around 30 minutes and includes Marty and Doc minifigures, which are rather good. I particularly like the Marty McFly figure.

Bag 2
Bag 2 was a little more fiddly, focusing on the engine area. The one thing I didn’t enjoy was discovering the dreaded stickers. Always likely with a cheaper set, I suppose. This stage took around 25 minutes to complete.

Bag 3
Bag 3 continued the engine work and added more of the rear section of the vehicle. It was a straightforward build and by the end the engine was really starting to take shape. I was ready to move on to bag 4.

Bag 4
Bag 4 focused mainly on the front of the car and preparing the bodywork ready for the roof section in bag 5. Another straightforward stage, with a few more body stickers added. I also placed Marty and Doc inside the car at this point. Possibly a 20 minute bag to build.

Bag 5
Bag 5 contains most of the final touches including the roof and finishing details, along with the last few stickers.
One particularly nice feature is that the car can be finished in two different ways. You can build it as the standard road-worthy DeLorean, or as the flying version seen at the end of the first film, complete with the wheels tucked underneath and the Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor on the back.

Overall this is a brilliant little model and one that I am very pleased with. Now proudly on display in my office.
