This review is short because there’s not much to say. The reviews and critics haven’t been very positive about this film.
I initially planned to watch on release day but cancelled due to early write ups. I then booked a mid-week viewing as I had some free time. Could this be as bad as the early reviews?

Of course, this is based on a computer game and horror-themed. I understand it uses characters and a story from the second game.
At best, the story is truly nonsensical. A lot of effort has gone into this film, with its effects and likely significant production costs. While computer-generated graphics quality varies, even the simple storyline doesn’t quite hold together this film.
When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of his lost love, James finds a once-recognisable town and encounters terrifying figures both familiar and new, and begins to question his own sanity.

The acting is average at best and the pacing starts well enough to hook you in but ultimately it all falls apart. While some horror sections are enjoyable, I didn’t find it particularly scary.
I’d recommend skipping this one. It’s not the worst horror film but it’s definitely not worth your time or money. Still not as bad though as “Freddy’s 2”.
