Last month I reflected on the numerous benefits of my weight loss (here). In case you missed it, I also discussed potential drawbacks of weight loss mid month and I posted it here.

I bought some new clothes in smaller sizes during the month. I am now wearing jackets and tops in a large size again and also 34-waist jeans which is a massive achievement for me. I haven’t been that size since my mid-twenties. I do still need to get rid of some of my existing clothes which are just too big and now look too baggy.

I’m still thinking a lot about how not to put weight on again. I definitely plan to continue tracking my calories daily and doing evening walks to make this is a lasting lifestyle change.

For one week I experimented with reducing my daily calorie intake by 200 calories (throughout the working week), effectively giving me an extra 1000 calories over the weekend. While this was a good experiment, it wasn’t beneficial enough. I reverted back to the usual daily calorie limit after just one week.

Finally weight is coming off again after a bit of a plateau. I also registered a weight within the 14 stone mark in November. This was another achievement, and I have not weighed in at that level since my mid to late twenties.

As Christmas approaches and the party season begins, I’m naturally thinking about how to enjoy the festive time while staying in control. Should I take a complete break between Christmas and New Year or adopt a more measured approach? I’d love to hear your recommendations and your own Christmas traditions. I am thinking perhaps to relax calorie counting for just the true bank hols over Christmas.

My quick takes…

(ALL)

  • Easter Eggs

“ As Easter approaches, I’m hoping to stay strong and avoid chocolate. My goal is to eat just one egg. Can I manage that? “

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“
