It’s been ages since our last Wetherspoons visit. After watching a Hannah Ricketts review on YouTube, we decided to pop in when we had some spare time recently. We used to go there occasionally but hadn’t been in a while.

We visited The Benjamin Satchwell in Leamington-Spa. The exterior was certainly presentable and inside a busy vast space greeted us.

This large venue boasted a vast menu with plenty of options. The menu selection was decent and offered a huge range of choices. View menu here.

My wife opted for the Empire State burger (which included drink) while I went for the £15 three-course deal. This included a bowl of chips an 8” ham and mushroom pizza and chicken strips. Ordering was easy through the Spoons app which gave us estimated wait times for drinks and food.

For two drinks and a meal, we spent £28 which was excellent value. Our drinks and food arrived promptly and the staff were polite and attentive.

The food quality matches reasonable expectations for the low price and offer good value. My chicken strips were particularly tasty. The chips were decent too. The pizza was okay, it tasted good but I’d have liked the cheese to be more melted and didn’t look like the topping had been cooked long enough. My wife’s burger was also good for the price.

This Wetherspoon is a great choice for quick and fuss-free service. It offers good basic food and a wide range of options. Of course, it’s also famous for its cheap drinks.

The food and service were good and reasonably priced for today’s standards. We’d definitely return.

My quick takes…
