At all stages of the cruise the staff were welcoming and want to provide a good experience. Whether shops, entertainment/theatre, dining or housekeeping, staff are lovely. They try their hardest to meet all your needs.

I was really impressed and did not come across one single rude staff member. A big credit to P&O Arvia.

Cabin Steward

On our first cabin day, our steward introduced themselves fairly quickly after checkin in. Jonny was always friendly and attentive. He visited our room everyday to make the beds and keep the shower/wash area clean.

Probably one of the most important contacts in making your stay a success. We saw Jonny most days and he was always cheerful. Don’t forget to put your “Gone Exploring” magnet on your door so the steward when he can visit.

Room Service

We did not use room service but plenty of others did. Here in the menu.

Reception/Guest Services

Guest services was always normally busy with a small queue but they did appear efficient and fast. You could then make any arrangements such as adding drink or internet packages or perhaps organising flowers etc. The equivalent of a hotel reception really. We didn’t use them much and you can ring them as well.

Reception/Guest Services

Maintenance

While a new ship, staff can be seen discretely maintaining the ship. Sometimes painting or maintaining electrical services such as lifts. The ship is spotless and a lot of work goes into keeping all areas of the ship looking good.

When electrical work is required needing to power down areas or work on lifts, much of this work is carried out at night when everyone has gone to bed. An important part of the team making sure you have a good holiday.

Though a new ship, the facilities are constantly looked after still to keep the ship looking and running good.

Security

Discreet but present. Most noticeable when boarding and departing the ship. Good to know that they are present and for me, most noticeable when carrying out a behind the scenes tour.

Toilets

Toilets are available throughout the ship. To open, just wave your hand infant of the green light sensor. No need to touch and the door will open. In the event on a single toilet and locked, the light will be ready.

If you are using a single toilet, such as baby changing, don’t forget to lock the door. You need to wave again inside for the door light to go red and lock.

Launderette

We were lucky that the launderette was quite close to our cabin. We used regularly and had no issues. Opening hours was 8am to 10pm. Especially busy on celebration night days and at the end of the cruise.

Shore Experiences/Cruise Sales

These areas are open at all times to self service with tablet screens. Manned support in limited and appointments can also be gained. Shore experiences was 8am to 10am and 4pm to 6pm. Then cruise sales 8am to 11am and then 4pm to 8pm.

OASIS Health Club

A relaxing experience that my wife attended. This club does get busy and you will need to book in advance. Many options available.

PHOTO GALLERY

Available to book studio sessions and often the photographers are around the ship taking photos. You can then order prints. Open 6pm to 8pm.

General Info

The general info may vary but is always available in the Horizon magazine. Example below.

Too many to list but as you can see, other facilities/ship services include the gym, spa, art gallery etc.

I hope that you have found this useful. Please do take a look at our cruise page for more info about P&O cruising and Arvia.
