My daughter absolutely loves Taylor Swift. Unfortunately we do not have tickets to see Taylor when she visits the UK this Summer and resale prices are extreme. The chances of seeing her live are pretty slim.

I will confess, I don’t mind her music either. Thankfully the concert streaming rights have been sold/licensed to Disney Plus. As a subscriber, I already had access for my daughter to watch this gig. At least that way, my daughter does not entirely miss out.

When released on the 15th of March, Disney was offering a special joining subscription price for those wanting to watch. It is rumoured that they paid some 75m USD plus for the rights. Unfortunately for anyone interested, that offer is now over but this version is longer than the cinema version with extra content.

Taylor Swift – The Eras Tour

Film wise, the stream comes in at 3 hours and 30 minutes, presented in 4K Ultra HD, HDR10 with Dolby Atmos. Despite its length, we have already watched it a few times and will continue to do so. An absolute masterclass in live performance by Taylor and presented with the multiple cameras allowing the edit to be most immersive. An expensive and well put together film, of an equally expensive production.

The vocals and performances range from full on productions with sets and dancers through to acoustic versions. Very enjoyable to watch.

For anyone actually lucky enough to have seen this show live it must be a good value gig (if you bought at original prices and not resale).

The performance works through eras of Taylor’s career. All the hits are included. My faves are many but would list “The Man”, “…Ready for it” and “Look what you made me do”.

When we started watching, we viewed on a 4K 55” screen but the sound was via the TV. I’ve now plugged my speakers back into the system and the difference was immediately noticeable. Dolby Atmos Plus sound is amazing. We now truly can feel the experience.

Even if you are not a Taylor fan, I would recommend watching. Most will know the catalogue performed. I knew most at first watch apart from some earlier hits and now enjoy them as well.

As to how Taylor is able to perform for so long (3.5 hours) is amazing. Some artists who have been around a lot longer should watch and learn. A real professional set. However, I have to appreciate she is young and in her prime. You have to be pretty fit to perform for the time that she does.

An enjoyable watch. Available now to stream on Disney Plus.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
