While I am not a massive F1 fan, I enjoy the challenge of building Lego kits and I enjoyed constructing the Back To The Future car recently. I liked the look of this F1 model and thought it would look good on display in my office. The Red Bull F1 car.

While I bought this kit at sea on P&O Arvia, I had the chance to visit the Lego store in Barcelona while on holidays. An amazing store and massive compared to those that we have in the UK. The store being about 4 or 5 times the size of the Bull Ring store that I visit in Birmingham.

The model was actually bought onboard the ship. I would have loved to have bought many more kits though in the Barcelona store.

The building was very relaxing on the balcony of P&O Arvia. A rare build opportunity during a day at sea.

An amazing view to build the car

The kit had about 250 pieces and 6 packets. I built the model over three days, working through two packets at a time.

Packets 1 and 2

Packets one and two took about 44 minutes and involved building the base of the car body and a couple of wheel arches.

A straightforward construction and some stickers. These first packets included a little formula one driver.

Packets 3 and 4

A 90 minute build on another sea day. Many stickers on small pieces required some slow building. Thankfully I had a pair of tweezers to help with placement. For £22, the kit was really shaping up to be good value.

Packets 4 and 5

Packets 5 and 6

The last sections of the build included wheels and other finishing touches. A few less stickers this time thankfully.

Overall

A very enjoyable build. Small parts but for the lower cost, it was actually a decent build and looks really good. The stickers are fiddly and a tweezers definitely helped with placement.

I could be tempted to do more F1 cars or maybe some of the Batman vehicles.

My quick takes…
