All I’ll say is this: in these troubling times, be careful what you believe on social media. There’s a growing wave of AI-generated and fake videos circulating about current world affairs, particularly around the situation involving Iran.
One example doing the rounds recently is a fabricated video of Keir Starmer claiming the UK has joined the war. It is of course not real.
This kind of misinformation is dangerous. It’s hard to see any motive behind spreading it other than either creating fear, division, and chaos, or simple greed through gaining monetisation through video views.
Be careful what you believe online. While AI no doubt provides some benefits, the wave of fake videos needs regulation.
