Last October (2025) I reviewed the Cineworld Unlimited pass, when I first started subscribing as a member. I was impressed by the value and the extra benefits the pass offered. At the time I said that if I found the pass beneficial, I would consider subscribing longterm.

Six months later and I plan to remain a Cineworld Unlimited member. While many of the benefits are obvious, such as being able to attend as many screenings as you like and cost savings, there are also a number of smaller perks that are easy to overlook.

One of our favourites is the 25% discount on food. I almost always pick up a discounted treat, with pick and mix being my go-to, usually alongside a hot chocolate. The salted popcorn is also another popular choice with me. I’ve also started attending more Unlimited screenings, where films are shown early for members. These screenings feel quite special, almost like a small club of Cineworld members watching together.

During my time as a member I’ve also received a couple of free popcorn rewards. One came during a special rewards month and another was given for my birthday, which was a nice bonus.

Another big advantage is that, because I pay a monthly fee, I’m more willing to take a chance on films I might not normally pay to see. That can often lead to pleasant surprises when a film turns out to be far better than expected. It also makes the Secret Screenings feel less of a risk. They also regularly show older classic films with new opportunities to see them on the big screen. Amazing.

Although my local cinema is Rugby, I’ve also used my membership at other locations, including the Birmingham NEC cinema at Resorts World. Thanks to my membership, not only did I get to see a film at the NEC site, but my parking was validated down to just £2 which isnt bad for the NEC.

In addition at the NEC, we had also planned to eat at one of the nearby restaurants that offer 25% off for Unlimited members. Although we had a bit of a wait for our table and didn’t stay in the end, it would have made for a very affordable night out. Though that is no fault of the membership.

App wise, I do feel that there could be some tweaks that could improve the experience. While generally good, the app would not allow me to make a booking for the NEC. This was rectified at the cinema but when booking for the Rugby cinema, I never have any issues.

I also need to say how great the customer experience is. When visiting this chain (particularly Rugby), the staff are always pleasant. They make you feel very welcome and visits special, as they are all very helpful.

Overall, I’m really happy with the membership. I usually see around two films a week and I have made quite a saving. More often than not, I’ll even watch two films back-to-back and make a complete evening of it.
