⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4

While not a heavily promoted release, this is absolutely worth your time. A Sky Original with a cinema run, it lands somewhere between a big-budget TV movie and a full cinematic experience, but don’t let that put you off.

After sitting through the fairly average new Mario film earlier the same day, I was hoping for something better and this delivered. Think Line of Duty meets Trigger Point, blended with a classic British heist film and a layer of thriller throughout. Tension then coming from the situation rather than action/spectacle on the whole.

The film wastes no time setting the scene, and from the outset it pulls you in. This was far better than expected. I was completely hooked, with plenty of twists and turns that kept things unpredictable. I had worried the trailer might have revealed too much, but thankfully that’s not the case. There are enough surprises here to keep you guessing right to the end.

Theo James stands out with a strong performance. You’ll likely recognise him from The Gentlemen, The White Lotus, and yes, that car advert. He continues to impress, and it’s not hard to imagine him in the Bond conversation at some point. He’d be a very solid, classic choice. His scenes in a farmhouse / barn after the heist particularly stand out.

The cinematography and direction keep the tension high throughout. If there’s one minor criticism, it’s whether the final piece of backstory was really necessary, but it doesn’t detract too much from the overall experience.

Fuze (2026) is a high-stakes British action thriller set in London, where the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb triggers a mass evacuation. As bomb disposal teams race against time, a group of criminals uses the chaos to execute a meticulously planned heist. It’s a slick, fast-moving film that balances explosive tension with a gripping crime story.

Overall, an excellent watch and well worth your money this weekend.

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“
