My daughter and wife had raved about Wing-Stop in Birmingham last November, so when we were shopping in Rushden Lakes this week we fancied some chicken and popped into this new branch on the Friday (2nd). This would be my first experience of Wing-Stop.

The menu offers chicken wings, boneless and tenders, burgers, platters, sides, loaded fries, dips, churros and drinks/milkshakes. Chicken wise, you get to choose the number of pieces and flavours which vary in heat, with some being dry and others wet flavours

My wife ordered a 24-piece boneless chicken platter with unlimited drinks and a couple of fries. She chose hickory smoked BBQ, original and Louisiana rub flavours. When she returned to our table she was given a table order number and immediately commented on the helpfulness of the staff taking our order.

While we waited for our food, a staff member checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed and to confirm that our order wouldn’t be long. We then used the self-service drinks machines which have loads of choices and flavours to select.

The food was served quick and was fresh/delicious, better than a similar chicken restaurant in the UK. The highlight was the amazing service throughout our visit. The polite and genuinely helpful staff truly made the experience memorable.

A staff member also impressed us when they placed the tray on the table, and they talked us through all the chicken choices and flavours ordered so we knew what was what. It was certainly a pleasant experience eating in this location.

We observed that all customers were receiving consistent and similar service while we ate. It’s clear they prioritise customer service at this location, especially for first-time visitors to this chain.

We were checked on again while eating to ensure everything was good with the food. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant if you’re a chicken lover. The team members are just excellent and the training must be brilliant. I would love to know how they successfully recruit the right people and train them. I understand that they are also large and popular in the US, and they are rapidly growing here in the UK.

This experience has made me realise other fast food outlets need to step up their game. The service was far superior to any competitor and the food quality amazing. The ability to customise the chicken and drinks with so many flavours truly sets this place apart.

I can’t fault them and the restaurant was very clean with the team very quickly resetting tables and wiping them down. Rushden Lakes restaurant is highly recommended.

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“
