A quick write up of an amazing eatery that we discovered in Oxford this past weekend!

On Saturday when we went to a Sophie Ellis Bextor gig, we looked for nearby food options in the City centre. We discovered a street food eatery section in the Westgate shopping centre. It comprises of many counters serving noodle options, pizza, burgers and lots more. The eatery that really caught our eye was the “Burnout BBQ” kitchen stall that had amazing food options. The choice of burgers, chicken and more looked really good.

What caught our eye in particular was the BBQ pulled pork boxes that were advertised and come with generous amounts fries, coleslaw, pulled pork and salad with a tub of BBQ sauce in a box. The price was £15 a box and it was absolutely loaded. We ordered three boxes and we were just blown away by the quantity and quality of the portions. The meat was particularly good and prepared well.

The presentation was also excellent and the service was also very good. A lovely lady served us at the counter and the food was served quickly and freshly prepared. You are given a little buzzer to alert your order is ready. You then find a table in an open area that is shared by all the eateries. It is more of a grab and go experience wise than full on restaurant. You then help yourself to knife’s, forks and napkin.

Our daughter had ordered some noodles from a competing stall and sat drooling at our meals. She quickly regretted her choice and we ended up ordering a fourth box for her. It would have been unfair to have her miss out on this tasty meal!

Oxford is a bit of a trek for us but I would seriously go back to visit this location again. I also understand that they have a full on restaurant also in Oxford which sounds good.

The setup is also ideal for lunches during the week and they run offers on working days with cheaper boxes and drinks. Weekend prices are a little more and do not include drinks.

Thanks again to the lovely staff member who served us all from behind the counter and of course the team who prepared the food.
