My Weight Loss Journey 2025 Accomplishments

When I began a diet in January 2025, my goal was always to lose five stone. I was confident in my ability to achieve this and 8 was fully committed. However, I didn’t anticipate developing a new approach to eating, health and ensuring that I get more exercise.

Many of you know I use an Apple Watch, which is fantastic for health monitoring and stats when linked to an iPhone. I thought it’d be interesting to document my progress for future comparison. These are some of the facts about what I have achieved while not on reaching my 5 stone weight loss target but also surpassing it.

  • I have walked 900 exercise miles in 2025
  • I closed my Apple Watch stand rings for 291 days
  • And closed my move rings for 308 days this year
  • I gradually increased average daily distance walked from an average of 3.5 miles a day to the current 4.3 miles a day average for exercise
  • My walking pace per mile started at around a 20 minutes a mile and is now on average in the 16 minute mark
  • My VO2 max was a poor 19 in January and now is at 32 for measuring cardio fitness
  • Exercise minutes started at 30 mins daily and is now at 75 minutes average
  • I’ve lost just over 5 1/2 stone in weight which is about 33kg
  • I’ve dropped from XXXL and XXL down to L for tops and from 44 waist to 34 and gradually I am buying lots of new better fitting clothes

I’m incredibly proud of my achievements as we begin another festive season. Last year I looked very large and unhealthy in photos but now I’m back to a more normal weight for my age and height.

I’m aiming to lose a little bit more weight and I will definitely maintain my daily routine. Please follow this blog for monthly progress updates. My next update will be in the New Year and will cover my Christmas progress.
