My wife and I visited this fast food restaurant twice last week. During our first visit they were busy and but friendly at the till when placing an order for our daughter.

This branch looks quite new, clean and popular.

The next day I realised I could get a ham and turkey footlong for a reasonable calorie count so I went back after seeing a film nearby.

I was the only customer in the venue and while waiting at the counter, two staff were likely preparing deliveries. A quick nod or brief acknowledgement would have been a nice touch to welcome, instead I stood waiting for up to a minute before being greeted.

The staff were polite enough when taking my order but not overly friendly. During salad selection, the lady seemed distracted and added items I hadn’t asked for.

The till experience was also peculiar. The two staff members appeared confused about which order belonged to which customer (deliveries) and how much to charge. There was no conversation just a brief direction to pay and no thank you or goodbye. It was an odd experience and certainly not one that would prompt me to return soon.

I was also charged for a pot of meatballs. There was no attempt to upgrade or offer me a meal or any other deal, which I expect normally happens. It felt a bit odd and the till staff member’s lack of interaction made it difficult to question. The lack of staff interest or engagement made me form an opinion that it would be an uphill struggle to raise any concerns. I didn’t have the energy so left.

While the service was below average, the positive aspect is that the food was delicious and exactly what I expected, filling and tasty. It was prepared with decent fresh ingredients.

I’d go back to Subway but not this branch in Rugby Junction One. They need to focus on making customers feel welcome.

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“
