What is your favorite food?

Chinese food is an easy answer for me. From a young age, my mum and dad would buy us a Chinese meal to celebrate birthdays. We would often take home Chinese range dishes from Marks and Spencer’s food hall (to cook at home), or sometimes we would order takeout.

My love for Chinese food has never wavered, even though I don’t get as many opportunities to eat it as I did when I was younger. I even tried cooking my own Chinese food a long time ago, experimenting with prawn toast, sweet and sour chicken, and more. While I enjoyed making it, I must admit that the prawn toast and a pan full of oil were a little dicey!

My sister always reminds me of a visit to a local Chinese restaurant. When I arrived to collect my regular take out, my greeting was, “Here’s your dinner, Martin!” Good times. My sister found that amusing she guessed I went there more than I let on.

The difficulty with Chinese food is that it’s so tempting to order a lot of dishes, especially when you mix an extreme amount of rice, noodles, and meat. It’s just a shame that it can be so pricey nowadays.

While on holiday this year, we managed to have a decent all you can eat Chinese. It’s just a shame that no such buffet exists in my town anymore. However, now that I am in the mindset for such a meal, we have just ordered, particularly as we were emailed a 50% off voucher.

  • Easter Eggs

“ As Easter approaches, I’m hoping to stay strong and avoid chocolate. My goal is to eat just one egg. Can I manage that? “

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“
