P&O Arvia Cruising – Our Cabin

Many cabin options exist and you have a number of room choices from inside rooms, lower decks windows, balcony’s and suites. A variety of choices to meet needs and budgets.

We had booked a balcony room which was exactly as advertised and we had a lovely view from our room on deck 10. A decent enough sized balcony with a couple of chairs and a table.

As three of us were sleeping in the room, our daughter took the sofa. This was her choice as she did not want to use the bed that lowers from the ceiling. As the ship is quite new and only launched in 2022, is really impressive.

The cabin was very impressive and we had booked a balcony room. Ideal for fresh air and watching the sea. The balcony was lovely to spend time on or at least have the door open. Great of course to have natural light flooding your room.

In truth, we didn’t spend that much time in the cabin. So while excellent having a balcony, if we cruised again, it wouldn’t necessarily be vital to have a balcony.

The entertainment system in the room is useful to provide information about your cruise, progress, timings and weather etc. You also have boxsets, films and TV channels to enjoy. TV channels are mainly news and sport and we did not use the TV much. The TV can pivot off the wall to face the direction required.

Within the cabin, lots of hooks are already available and we add more magnetic hooks. To hang heavier items, you can add hooks near the ceiling for extra storage.

We used extra magnets to hang caps and hats

Our cabin steward was very attentive and refreshed and tidied our room every day. Towels refreshed when requested and bed linen changed weekly.

The beds are excellent and we all slept well. My daughter slept well also which is good.

The bathroom was compact but very functional. All new kit and water supply and shower are excellent. You are also supplied White Company bathroom products.

When leaving your room, you can use the magnetic door signs so that your steward knows when they can enter your room.

Power point wise. most ports are standard UK plug sockets. Your night lights by the bed also have a USB port handy for chargers.

USB cable connected below side light

The kettle used a US style point for the kettle. By your bed you also have an additional socket on one side of the bed and single usb (b) sockets under each lamp.

You are asked not to leave items on charge when not in your room.

Your life jackets are stored in the main cupboard and the outside door is also marked up to flag where they are.

The tea and coffee making facilities are refreshed daily. A selection of coffee, tea and sugar sachets.

While we did not use room service, an example offering is below.

While we did not use the room service menu, I thought prices were reasonable. Many did appear to use.

While a launderette is available for washing your clothes, you can also leave clothes to be washed and ironed. Example prices in picture.

Our towel on arrival back to the room one day looked amazing. Gave us a laugh. The towel animals are normally only on request or for special occasions.

Last tip is with the lighting and electric. You need to place a cruise card in the slot by the door. But any magnetic strip card will work, that way, you can just pull the card up and down without using your cruise card. We used an Asda card!
