My family and I were looking for a place to eat within walking distance in Rugby. We found an unexpected gem after a family recommendation.

The Courthouse

After a nightmare day, we wanted a treat as a family. We last visited this pub (The Courthouse) a long time ago and understand that the venue may have changed hands and reopened during the last couple of years.

We did not have a reservation but the staff greeted us in a nice manner and made us feel welcome. They kindly juggled the tables to fit us in as quite busy already

The land lady was particularly keen to make sure all guests in the pub were well looked after and kept busy checking on everyone throughout our visit.

While the pub is slightly tired looking, it is well looked after and very clean. On entry you can tell thought is considered with a nice welcoming display and items for sale.

Drinks were served quick and the menu has a nice selection with starters, that include sharing platters which are good value. For mains you have burgers, grill and good pub food offerings. Loads of sides and upgrade options.

My wife and I shared the cheese sharing starter with Mac and cheese bites, Camembert and loads more. Mains wise we had a spag Bol, hunters chicken and burger with sides.

All three of us enjoyed our meal. Portions and quality was good. The staff are very attentive despite being busy and worked well as a team. We would go back as good value and definitely recommend.

Thanks to The Courthouse landlady and team.

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“
