I was intrigued by the trailer for this sequel when I first saw it. It promised a fun and easy watch with scares and laughs. I watched the first film on Netflix beforehand and while it wasn’t the most amazing film, it was definitely enjoyable. Hence giving part 2 a watch.

This second film clearly had a bigger budget, but while the effects are decent, the overall experience is a disappointment. It’s nonsensical and a bit boring. The story begins well but quickly loses its way. However the ending leaves the door open for a sequel as it does not conclude.

The music was enjoyable and a highlight, creating a suitable atmosphere to support the action. The art direction and sets further enhanced the mood. The acting was as expected but it was a shame it was all a bit too silly. There was low gore and it just felt like a wasted opportunity.
I’d suggest skipping this one. While it’ll probably perform reasonably well, it’ll be because many viewers expecting it to be as good as the first. This follow-up feels rushed and underdeveloped, probably just wanting to quickly capitalise on the first film’s success.
