Finally Closing The Trade Centre UK Chapter

A few years back, we made the mistake of exchanging a fairly decent Peugeot for a larger model from Trade Centre UK in Coventry. I documented all the difficulties on this blog and I even set up a dedicated page to document our journey and difficulties.

The initial excitement of getting a different car to meet our family’s needs was very quickly ruined by an endless stream of stress. We were met with a poor-quality car and equally poor service. Do not touch this dealer with a barge pole.

Following a nightmare that started a few years ago, we completely lost confidence in the vehicle. Even when repairs were done, there was always something else wrong, and the overall build quality just wasn’t there. Earlier this year, right after getting the car through its MOT (which was always a struggle), we decided we had finally had enough.

The core issue, and the big lesson learned was that we had rushed into the decision to buy from Trade Centre UK. What a mistake that was.

This time around, we really took our time to make the right choice before replacing our car. We wrote up detailed lists of what we wanted and refused to compromise. We nearly got carried away looking at all-singing, all-dancing lease cars, but after weighing the pros and cons, we decided against that route. In the end, we bought a used Peugeot 2008 from the Peugeot garage right here in Rugby. We have successfully used that dealership in the past and the vehicle that we are purchasing has just under 21,000 miles on the clock. It feels great to drive, and has all the features we were after. We feel very confident and happy with our decision.

The main reason for this post is to celebrate finally closing the Trade Centre UK chapter for good. With that behind us, here are the key lessons learned:

• Avoid Trade Centre UK: Their service is poor, and they simply do not care about the customer.
• Do your research and plan ahead: When buying a car, draw up a list of features and think carefully about what you actually need before rushing in. That way, you can avoid buying a car with missing features.

While their overall score may have improved over time, for anyone still caught dealing with problem cars sold by them, the stress and anxiety that company causes is just not worth it. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. There are still recent one star poor reviews which are dreadful to read.
