⭐️⭐️⭐️3

Virus and zombie thriller type films can be a lot of fun, especially when there is a bit of comedy mixed in. The real challenge is doing something fresh in a genre that feels like it has been done every which way. The cast here is certainly strong, with Liam Neeson, Georgina Campbell and Joe Keery leading.

The story starts well, with a bit of backstory and an around the potential fungal outbreak. Early on it leans more into sci-fi drama before settling into a lightly amusing thriller. Liam Neeson is very much positioned as the man who will save the day, but oddly he felt underused. It felt like a missed opportunity to really ramp things up.

At best the film is amusing in places, but story wise it feels fairly average with no real surprises. There is little here that I have not seen before and overall it comes across as a slightly wasted opportunity. It is not a full blown comedy, yet it aims for mild humour throughout and just does not quite land.

Cold Storage (2026) is an action-packed, sci-fi horror-comedy based on the 2019 novel by David Koepp. The film, written by Koepp and directed by Jonny Campbell, follows a group of characters trying to contain a highly contagious, mutating, and body-bursting fungus that has escaped from a long-sealed, top-secret government laboratory hidden underneath a commercial self-storage facility.

Overall, itt is an okay watch, but you might be better off choosing something else to watch unless you have a cinema unlimited card.

“ As Easter approaches, I’m hoping to stay strong and avoid chocolate. My goal is to eat just one egg. Can I manage that? “

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“
