A spark of tech, a touch of magic, and everything else

“Shelter” Film Review/Opinion

This was a must see film for me. As a fan of Jason Statham, I’ve been really looking forward to this one. His films are always enjoyable to watch and I’ve seen most of his action films.

Statham maintains his signature style but delivers a very enjoyable performance. This action thriller boasts a good storyline and thrilling action sequences. Supporting him is the brilliant Bodhi Rae Breathnach as Jessie.

“On a remote coastal island, a former assassin living in self-imposed exile rescues a young girl from a deadly storm. As their lives start to intertwine, he must protect the orphan while battling enemies from his past.”

The film opens with a dark and moody cinematic presentation and an enjoyable setup before the pace picks up.

Both Statham and Breathnach are believable and well paired. Bill Nighy also supports.

The story conclusion is enjoyable and thankfully it leaves room for a sequel. Fans of Jason Statham’s style and action films will love it. I’d definitely watch it again.
