I initially struggled to get into the first film but the latest trailer grabbed my interest for this third instalment. Given the series’ popularity, I decided to watch it after streaming the first two films on Disney Plus.

Although it’s an incredibly long film, it’s a fast-paced adventure with an epic story. Time flew by when watching and I made sure to have a massive drink at hand to keep me going.

This story builds on the previous films introducing a new threat from another clan on Pandora. The storytelling and CGI/effects were excellent. The character development, particularly Spider’s, was a main part of the film. Jackson Champion who plays the part is excellent.

For a film this long, a 10-minute break would be ideal. While I’ve watched similar films and questioned their length, this film does demand the full allotted screen time. It must have cost a serious amount of money to make.

You’ll need to concentrate and keep up with the narrative; otherwise, you might find yourself trying to fill in gaps you missed. It is also worth noting that a few characters change appearance without much explanation, which did throw me on occasion. Though it did become clearer as the film progressed.

I recommend this film but only if you’ve seen the others as you’ll be lost otherwise.
