The last month has been quite slow with weight loss, and I only managed to lose a couple of pounds. It does now appear that I have hit a plateau, but having lost over 4.5 stone, it was bound to eventually slow down.

The good news is that I still monitor my calorie intake and walk at least three miles daily. I’m now the lightest and healthiest that I’ve been in years.

One challenge during the month was the onset of a possible chest infection. To reduce the risk of infection, I had to stop walking for a week and use an indoor treadmill instead. However, I didn’t really enjoy it because it’s just a flat pad with no support frame. After a few days, I introduced a steps workout on my stairs. Going up and down a few steps was probably more effective, and I found it much more gruelling. It certainly felt more like an upward climb, which made my heart race faster. This could be a handy indoor exercise for rainy days when I can’t walk.

I also had to buy new walking shoes. as I have walked some 600 miles this year, the old shoes had worn out. I have bought two new pairs as it is common at this time of year for them to get wet and a backup pair is always handy.

Overall, everything is going well, and I’m continuing to work towards my goal of losing a total of 5 stone.

My quick takes…
