As a child, like most children I was always into magic. I was never good at it when young but I loved watching Paul Daniel’s and Debbie McGee on the BBC.

Fast forward many years and after watching a lot of modern magic on TV, I wanted to see if it was possible to see magic performed live to disprove that camera trickery was at play.

I started watching live magic in theatres from 2018 and an obsession with magic quickly developed. During lockdown in 2020, I created a website called MagicSeats.co.uk to help promote live magic via Zoom when theatres were not an option.

Quickly the website content grew, I joined magic clubs and started collecting effects, collectibles and attending lectures/conventions. I also got into the history of magic.

This hobby has opened up so many opportunities – Interviewing magicians for the site, meeting them and going to many live magic shows that I review.

Writing and reviewing shows is quite a large part of my hobby nowadays and has opened up many new friendships. I also collect selfies and signed playing cards from artists after shows.

My website nicely documents my hobby with content ranging from reviews, interviews and my collectibles. The website will have been running 5 years next year. If you fancy knowing more about the site, please visit MagicSeats.co.uk

We are also running our recognition awards for artists that have featured on the site currently. All readers can then vote for their favourite magic acts.
