Wayne Trice is currently running magic shows online and I had the opportunity to view his “Magic In A Trice” show via Zoom on Sunday the 8th of November.
I was aware of Wayne as I had previously watched and reviewed him perform as part of the “Magic At The Barn” show. Therefore, it was a good opportunity to see Wayne perform on his own.
The show is a family friendly and it was promoted for all ages above age 7, lasting approximately 30 minutes.

On booking a ticket for the show, you promptly receive an email with instructions about how to join the Zoom show along with a PDF to print out. This PDF is used during the show and I was able to download and print the required sheet without any issues.
The email advises that you can join the show about 10 minutes before the start and wait in a virtual lobby. This is a good idea as it allows you to test your setup, making sure that your Zoom app is up to date. I always test my speaker and mic using the Zoom application settings as Zoom shows are always very interactive.
As advised, I waited in the virtual lobby. There was a good turn out for the show with about 20 screens online, and many more audience members participating due to many families sharing screens.
The show started promptly at the advertised time and Wayne was in good form. He reminded all that though the show was via Zoom, that he would be able to perform all the tricks face to face and was not reliant on any camera trickery. He also went through some house keeping to make sure that the show would run smoothly and to manage your expectation.
He specialises in a variety of close up magic and worked his way through about 6 routines with a variety of effects. Including use of rope and chop cup. As a spoiler free review, I cannot say much more on the actual show content. However, Wayne is very natural with the audience and got lots of laughs. You also get some fascinating insight into the history of magic.
The lighting of the show and the set used for the performance were good. Wayne also had a mic and ear piece to help with the show presentation which worked well. The bandwidth and quality of the picture remained consistent throughout the call. No technical issues at all.
Personally, I really enjoyed the show and Wayne received a brilliant audience reaction. All appeared to be having good fun and joined in with the interactive elements.

Bio
Like many magicians Wayne has had a keen interest in magic since he was young, although he was a bit of a late starter when it came to performing magic.
At around age 13 he found Davenports Magic Shop in London and the Demon Magic Club for young magicians that they ran in the studio behind the shop.
For many years Wayne talked, watched and occasionally performed magic, in between eating McDonalds (other fast food restaurants are available!) with a group of similar aged like minded magicians. After leaving school Wayne got a proper job with a bank and slowly moved away from the Magic club (he did get a bit old!).
Wayne’s other passion is in the theatre, and he has been involved with many plays and musicals over the last 19 years. He has not only appeared on stage many times in various roles, but has also gained plenty of experience in lighting, sound, stage management and directing.
Utilising this experience, Wayne teamed up with two magic colleagues as The Magic of 3 who performed 2 successful seasons at Merton Abbey Mills with their shows, Bohemian Magic and Magic at the Mill, and also performed a combination of these shows at the Ashcroft Theatre, in the Fairfield Halls, Croydon.
He also appeared twice in the New Players Theatre in the West End, when some of his old friends from the Demon Club got together and put together a reunion show, which was repeated for a second year due to its success.
Wayne’s magical and theatrical experience also paid dividends during his day job. He found success in roles which relied on his performing experience and his last role was as a corporate trainer which suited his personality and experience fully.
