For Christmas, my wife and I were given tickets to the serial killer exhibition in London. Running at The Vaults in London under Waterloo Station.

Getting into London for the day and arriving into Euston, we decided to do our own walking tour of the West End. Over the years, when growing up, I would regularly walk around London using minimal public transport with my mum and my uncle.

As we got into Euston at 1030 in the morning and our exhibition ticket was 1630, we decided to walk. From Euston Station, making our way to Oxford St, Carnaby St, Regent St, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, the Mall/Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Big Ben/Houses of Parliament and then finally at Waterloo.

The main choice of destination for eating and looking at the shops during the day was of course Covent Garden and we spent a few hours there. The main highlights being the TinTin shop, Magic Corner, and gaining some food at Byron Burgers. I also visited the Transport Museum site (though did not enter) for old times sake as my Uncle took me there a few times over the years.

My wife does not know her way around London in the same way that I do and she thoroughly enjoyed the walk and sites. We covered about 8 miles of walking that day, viewing many famous and enjoyable sights. We did have to extend our walk and go an alternative route due to a demonstration near Parliament that was also reported on the news. Therefore, we didn’t get to see No.10. But we did get to Waterloo in time as we had planned to see the exhibition.

Enjoy the gallery and read our part 2 post about the Serial Killer exhibition.
