Edit – March 12 2026
As we had enjoyed our brunch back in January, we decided it was time to return, this time to celebrate my birthday. I ordered the Full English, my wife chose the Eggs Royale and my daughter went for the French toast.
As usual, the service was excellent, with a lovely member of staff looking after us. The environment and atmosphere were very pleasant. My daughter’s French toast was massively improved compared with our last visit, with a much more generous portion, and the Eggs Royale was also very good.
The only feedback would be that, for £15, the Full English could do with a little more on the plate. A larger field mushroom, two slices of toast instead of one and perhaps a second sausage would make it feel better value.
That said, it was an enjoyable visit overall, with good quality food and lovely staff.

Brownsover Hall, a well-known hotel in Rugby, Warwickshire, reopened last year after a brief closure and a refit.
This gothic Victorian hotel offers overnight accommodation, restaurants and extensive landscaped gardens. The refit has restored the building and decor to high standards making it a lovely venue to stay and eat at.

We visited the Boughton restaurant to celebrate a birthday and ordered from the brunch menu. We had full English breakfasts, avocado toast, eggs royale and some French bread servings.
We’ve visited this location a few times recently for tea and cake and my wife has thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the socialising and ate at the restaurant in an evening. It seems to cater to both locals and overnight guests.

The service during this latest visit was excellent. The professional team injected their personalities into a friendly and welcoming service. They were always pleasant and eager to please.
As a newly formed team, we’ve found that if something is not right, they want to know about it, listen and then rectify the situation.

Our two main waiting staff were fantastic today. They took our orders accurately and the food arrived promptly. The decor is pleasant and makes the dining experience feel special while you wait.
For food, I opted for the English breakfast. Initially, I wondered if it was enough but it was more than generous. The quality of the food was key and I expect most items are locally sourced. The black pudding, sausage and bacon were particularly delicious. I highly recommend it and would definitely return.
I understand the French bread was also lovely. The avocado feedback was that the portion was quite large, though everyone has different tastes and expectations. My wife enjoyed the eggs royale with smoked salmon and eggs.
We spent a couple of hours at the venue and took a walk around the grounds afterwards. My family also inspected some of the hotel rooms which I know are beautifully furnished (and unique) from previous visits.

If you’re local, definitely check out this venue and sign up for their loyalty scheme. We’re planning to try their afternoon tea in the future and the rooms look lovely as well, for anyone needing accommodation. The staff are always excellent and incredibly helpful.
PS. Thank you to the team for acknowledging my wife’s birthday, without prompting.
