Various options exist to communicate with fellow passengers and find your way around the ship. Sometimes a little forward planning is required if you do not all have an internet package.

Internet

You can buy an internet package. We bought a single package and then shared. The internet was generally reliable and if you book and pay for before the cruise, you get a 10% discount.

On port days, we also used our mobile phones. See the section on internet packages here.

Horizon

The paper based copy of the “Horizon” magazine is dropped outside your cabin every evening with lots of handy information about events and contacts.

An electronic version is also available to view within the “My Holiday” app.

Captains/Bridge Updates

The bridge tend to provide updates quite regularly, broadcasting to the ship with any relevant information, weather etc. You will get updates at breakfast, midday and later. Particularly handy providing information on port day.

Cabin TV

The cabin TV is really useful for information about your cruise, we used this quite a lot for ship location, weather, webcam etc. Really useful.

LCD Display Screens

Mainly found need the lifts and cycle through information and events available to attend and book.

Time

Clocks are found quite easily, some on the walls and even a few on the floor!

LIFTS/SIGNAGE

On every floor, the signage at the lifts is most useful. Displaying everything available on each deck.

You can also location ship maps on the walls near lot areas as well.

Phones

As well as in your room, regularly found throughout the ship and available for use to call your room as well. Emergency calls are using the standard 999.

My Holiday App

The “My Holiday” app can only be accessed when onboard the ship. On entering your cabin, you are given instructions to access on the wifi. Everyone can access regardless of whether you have an internet package. The app then allows bookings and management of your holiday onboard.

Stairs

To help with navigation, the stairwells have coloured art to help with location around the ship. That way, you can recognise your nearest stairwell. Red is at the back, grey was midsection of the ship etc.

My quick takes…

  • Easter Eggs

“ As Easter approaches, I’m hoping to stay strong and avoid chocolate. My goal is to eat just one egg. Can I manage that? “

  • “Paradise” – Disney Plus/Hulu

“The second season is nearly done, and somehow I’ve only just discovered this show. I’m about to start the series one finale and honestly, what a great watch it’s been. It feels like 24 meets Lost, with plenty of twists and surprises along the way. I’m hoping it just keeps getting better.“
